Typical inhabitant of the riparian woodland, the Tree Frog (Hyla intermedia) is the only representative of our fauna of a multi-coloured group of arboreal amphibians widespread in the tropics.

The river and lake banks are the habitat of the rare but fairly widespread Pond Tortoise (Emys orbicularis), a small and shy animal, today threatened by the larger and invading species of introduced exotic species.
